Set in farmland, St Leonard’s is one of the smallest churches in Yorkshire, and also one of the most peaceful. It was built in the early Norman period, probably on the site of an earlier Saxon church. St Leonard's has many interesting features, including a Saxon font. Visitors are welcome at any time during daylight hours and, after having looked in the church, there is ample opportunity for walking on the cliff path, or down to the shore.

You would be very welcome to join us for worship. Like the other three churches in the Headlands benefice, our pattern of services varies according to the Sunday of the month, and is as follows:
First Sunday: 11.00 am Holy Communion
Second Sunday: 11.00 am Service of the Word
Third Sunday: 11.00 am Service of the Word
Fourth Sunday: 11.00 am Matins (traditional language)
Fifth Sunday: Benefice service in one of the four churches - please check noticeboards for time and venue
