PART-TIME (Fixed Term Contract)

SALARY FTE £18,009 (i.e., £9,125 per annum for 19 hours / week at £9.21 per hour - FTE based on 37.5 hours per week)

HOURS 15 – 19 hours per week over four days Monday – Thursday by agreement with the applicant

ROLE The role is a fixed term contract for six months

RESPONSIBLE TO Charity Director or Deputy


Westway Open Arms is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with Christian ethos and values. Westway Open Arms is situated in Eastfield on Westway adjacent to Holy Nativity Church. The main work of the charity is the provision of a social action centre within the community on four days per week. We are a well established charity and are recognised for high quality services. The work of the charity is mainly carried out by volunteers, and has the support and assistance of local churches, other local charities and agencies.


This is a valuable role within the charity, responsible for ensuring cohesive, effective running of the centre support services.

We are looking for a friendly and welcoming person with good interpersonal skills to work alongside and support our volunteers, trustees and clients ensuring the centre runs smoothly.

We are seeking an energetic, flexible and confident person to join our busy team to provide administrative services. The successful candidate will need to be empathetic, calm and of a generous nature – able to think creatively and adapt to any situation. You will lead with encouraging and supporting our existing volunteers. Therefore, previous experience of working with volunteers is very desirable.


• A personal Christian ethos • At least two years experience of working as an administrator in a busy environment • Supervisory experience • Have experience of working with volunteers • Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office • Have an empathetic and clear communication manner • Willing to complete a Confidential Declaration, DBS checks and Safeguarding Training (please also see attached detailed person specification)
