One of four churches in the Headland Benefice, St Michael's is a lively and friendly Christian community. Please do join us in our worship. Our morning services take place every Sunday at 10.30am - Holy Communion on the second Sunday of the month and Morning Worship on the other Sundays. We join the other churches of our Benefice on the fifth Sunday for a United Benefice service.
We welcome visitors at our soup and roll lunch at 12 noon on the first Tuesday of the month, and our coffee morning at 10.30am on the third Tuesday of the month, both in our church hall, which is near the church. Our flower festival is on the last weekend in August each year, with refreshments and stalls in the hall.
Our beautiful building dates from the twelfth century with some interesting additions and renovations. Set at the heart of the village, it is very well worth a visit. We have a striking red-brick chancel, and a lovely stained glass window depicting St Francis at Bempton cliffs with no fewer than six species of seabird. The church is usually open during daylight hours.
